It is accessible via a long flight of stairs on the east side, or a less strenuous road leading to a western entrance, making it suitable for varying mobility levels; taxis or local buses can reach the base. While easily explored solo, a local guide can significantly enrich the experience by explaining its deep Buddhist and Hindu symbolism. The site is open year-round, with the dry seasons (autumn and spring) offering the most pleasant weather and clear views, though early mornings or late afternoons are always best to avoid crowds and witness rituals. An approximate entrance fee of NPR 200-400 applies to foreign visitors, and a typical visit lasts 1.5 to 3 hours. Visitors should be mindful of the resident monkeys and dress respectfully; removing shoes is required before entering some temples.
