Guided expeditions are absolutely mandatory for safety, navigation, and permits, as solo visits are neither feasible nor permitted. The dry season (roughly December to April) is generally preferred for trekking due to clearer paths, while the wet season (May to November) presents the most spectacular waterfall views despite tougher trekking conditions.
